The National Peanut Board recently launched a dynamic video campaign for Food Allergy Awareness Week, spotlighting our registered dietitian, Markita Lewis, MS, RD. This campaign aimed to educate and engage the public around peanut allergies while reinforcing our commitment to supporting those living with food allergies.
Across a series of short-form videos, Markita addressed common questions about peanut allergies, including the latest research, guidance for families introducing peanuts to young children, and how individuals with food allergies can still enjoy a nutritious diet. Her clear, compassionate delivery helped break down complex information into accessible and actionable insights for consumers, healthcare professionals, and food industry partners alike.
The video series brought to life several Q&As from our new Common Questions brochure, helping translate printed guidance into relatable, real-time education. Rolled out across Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and YouTube Shorts, the videos were strategically optimized with educational captions and carefully researched hashtags to maximize reach and engagement.
The campaign was a success, garnering over 5,000 views and generating plenty of likes and shares from users across platforms. By featuring our in-house nutrition expert, the series showcased the National Peanut Board’s ongoing efforts to lead with transparency, share science-backed facts, and promote awareness of peanut allergies in a respectful and supportive way.
Most importantly, it demonstrated how the peanut industry is listening, learning, and striving to be part of the solution for those navigating life with food allergies, one informed conversation at a time.
